Haunted Sectors are a new addition to Destiny 2 for the Festival of the Lost event, but they’re not available right from the start. Guardians will have to complete a few quest steps for Eva Levante to kick off the event before they can partake in the spooky festivities. Running Haunted Sectors is a major part of this year’s event, so players will spend a lot of time playing through these levels to earn candy and other rewards. Here’s how you can start playing Haunted Lost Sectors for the Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2.
Where to Find Haunted Sectors in Destiny 2
Haunted Sectors have their own playlist that can be accessed from the Tower. To start one, just open your Director and find the Haunted Sectors Playlist in the top part of the Tower map. They can be played with a fireteam of up to three players, but you can also go in solo if you’d like.
However, you’ll need to complete a few objectives for Eva Levante before you can access the playlist. Find her in the Tower’s courtyard to start the Festival of the Lost questline called “Gone But Not Forgotten.” You have to finish the first two quest steps to access Haunted Sectors. The first quest step can be completed just by picking up your Festival of the Lost mask, and the second quest step can be finished by completing the following objectives:
- Acquire 3 Spectral Pages
- Acquire 100 Candy
Candy is obtained by defeating enemies, and Spectral Pages are acquired by completing any activity. You have to be wearing a Festival of the Lost mask in order for these objectives to work, so make sure you equip yours once you get it from Eva Levante. You can queue up for any activity you want for this, but a Strike will likely complete both objectives in one go. You can also play Crucible or any other game mode if you prefer.
How to Complete Summoning Rituals
Once you have them unlocked, you can play Haunted Sectors by selecting the playlist on the Tower map. The next quest step for Gone But Not Forgotten requires you to complete Summoning Rituals in Haunted Sectors. Summoning Rituals appear throughout Haunted Sectors, so just explore the areas normally until you come across them. You’ll know you’ve found one when you see an icon with a letter that looks like the control point markers from Crucible.
When you find a Summoning Ritual, just stand in the designated area until it completes. Once the ritual is over, enemies called Headless Ones will appear. The more Headless Ones you defeat, the more rewards you’ll receive at the end of the activity. Keep an eye out for Summoning Rituals throughout the Festival of the Lost event. You’ll have to complete more of them as you progress through the Gone But Not Forgotten questline.
