Tanks are a new type of vehicle in Far Cry 6, and they’re incredibly difficult to destroy if you don’t know their weaknesses. They have protective armor plating that’s mostly impenetrable, so you’re going to have to get creative to take them down. Of course, you can use explosives as you would in most other video games, but you’re not always going to have access to an RPG or other explosive device in Far Cry 6. How to Destroy Tanks in Far Cry 6
There are two ways to destroy tanks in Far Cry 6. The first and easiest method is to use explosives. Even though a tank’s armor is tough, it cannot withstand rockets. You can use an RPG, Grenade Launcher, or a Supremo to blow up tanks, but it could take a few blasts to put them out of commission for good. You could also hijack a helicopter or tank for yourself and fight that way.
The second method is a bit more dangerous, but you can do it with any weapon. Tanks have a large fuel tank on their back that you can shoot and destroy for massive damage. The fuel tank looks like an oil barrel on its side. Once you blow it up, you will reveal a hidden weak spot that you can continue to shoot until the tank is destroyed. The weak spot is in the same place as the fuel tank, so you’ll just have to continuously shoot the back of the tank.
The problem with this method is that it requires you to get close to the tank. If you stand directly behind the vehicle, it can roll backward and run you over. This will instantly kill you, so try to keep your distance and shoot the fuel tank from an angle. Remember to use your Supremo backpack to get in some extra damage, and throw Smoke Grenades if you have any to give yourself some cover.
How to Hijack Tanks in Far Cry 6
If you’d rather take the tank for yourself, then you can hijack it just like any other vehicle. You’ll have to disable it first though. To disable a tank, you have to use an EMP Grenade or EMP pulse, both of which come from your Supremo.
If you have the Volta Supremo backpack equipped, then you can use its ability to send out an EMP pulse that disables any nearby vehicles and electronics. This will stop the tank in its tracks for a short period of time. If you’re using another Supremo, then you can install an EMP Grenade in the Gadget Socket at a Resolver Workbench. This will add EMP Grenades to your inventory that you can use to disable tanks.
Once a tank is disabled, you can hijack it by climbing on top of it and finding the hatch. When you reach the hatch, you can either destroy the tank outright or hijack it. Either method is valid, but keep in mind that causing too much destruction with a tank could cause Castillo to send his Special Forces after you.
